Looking forward to 2019 – and making the most of Coventry and Warwickshire

New Year is time when everyone looks to reset their affairs – whether its health, fitness, de-cluttering or making long-term plans.

Most of us make hasty decisions on New Year’s Eve and many of them have gone, according to the statistics, by the wayside by the 12th of January.

Well – you will be glad to hear – we were a little more strategic in our planning at Inspire Insurance.

We took the decision last year to be the headline sponsor of the Coventry and Warwickshire Business Festival.

We decided to do that because, while we operate across the UK, we fully realise the strength of diversity of the Coventry and Warwickshire economy, and we want to do more work with the companies who are close to us.

The sponsorship of the Business Festival was the start of a fresh campaign to become more embedded in the regional business community.

The major reason is purely economic.

We are constantly amazed at the number of successful firms right on our doorstep. It is easy to get your head down and plough on and maybe ignore your local market or at least take it for granted.

Our headquarters is on Middlemarch Business Park, and to take a litmus test on the local economy, I would encourage you to take a drive around when you are passing.

There are engineering firms, professional services companies in legal and property, manufacturers, food companies, logistics firms – the list is almost endless. Many of them work across the UK, many of them operate internationally and many of them are doing ground-breaking work.

I see that we are not alone – the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce has launched a Trade Local campaign encouraging all its members to make full use of the expertise on our doorstep, which echoes our new focus.

We have exciting expansion plans at Inspire both in terms of growing in our traditional areas of operation but also venturing into new but associated fields of insurance. That will see us not only grow our turnover but also increase the number of jobs we create for local people.

Our sponsorship of the Business Festival is for two years, underlining our commitment, so I hope to be meeting new people and new clients throughout 2019.

It is a New Year’s resolution that we will be definitely be sticking to!
